I hear a lot of people talk during the day at work. I about lost it when I heard a guy talking about why Obama was horrible and he said "it's because he's black." What the hell?! How does the color of one's skin defy anything? It is ridiculous to judge people on the color of their skin. It has been man's major flaw for quite some time and some ignorant people can't get over it or put their differences aside. I try my hardest not to judge people by their looks. If someone treats me in a rude manner then I'm going to retaliate and treat them with the same attitude. I put the irrational stereotypes that many people see, aside-I will not let that effect my attitude toward the person! I don't like to get too involved in politics but why does everyone hate Obama in Utah? I know some supporters but I hear a lot of crap from people's mouths about him. Where were these people when Bush was in office? Doesn't it occur to anyone that Obama is trying to fix Bush's mistakes? He left this country in an poor state and everyone wants to hate on Obama cause he's trying to fix it. I'm tired of people's attitudes towards him, immigrants and the color of people. I appreciate my space just as much as the next person but to blame people for wanting to have a better life; the kind of life you are living, is absurd.
Another stupid man at work said he hated to take out his ID cause "all the illegals come and go as they please." Majority of the time if any of these "illegals" have someone else's identity, they are unaware of it. Blame the crooked companies and individuals that hire these desperate people to do the work (ie..major chicken distributors hire farmers to raise the chickens and "illegals" to take care of them.) Blame the ones who give them the stolen socials. They like to hire immigrants because they give them no rights, no freedoms, hard labor and cheap pay...just so they don't have to do the "dirty" job. I wish people would just put their identity aside and put themselves in the other person's shoes. What would you do if you can't even afford to feed your family? Word on the street is you could have a better life in a different place. You take your chances, you may be lied to and sold a social but this is how the country works, or so you are told. You may go the right direction and have to go through the process of getting a green card or visa and maybe eventually gain citizenship, but you will never have any rights. You are not entitled to it because you are not from here. Why does the origin of someone determine their abilities to be just as free as you are? Even if you were born here, would you feel the same if you had to go through the same process as them? Plain and simple, don't blame people that want to immigrate. I'm sure if America was in flames and the only place you could go was Mexico..you would want the same life you got in America. No, you are an immigrant; therefore, you are not and will never be equal to a native.
...just had to get that off my chest:)
